For the Jil Sander Navy autumn/winter 2011/12 campaign, model of the moment Arizona Muse nails the androgynous aesthetic and makes some striking shots with photographer Willy Vanderperre. Casual lifestyle label Jil Sander Navy only began last year, but is proving to be consistently impressive and directional. The tailoring is spot on, and is both masculine and modern, but still ever so sexy.

1 white shirt + fabulous jewellery…

…Equals a winning style combination, as demonstrated here by Elizabeth Olsen. The sister of Mary Kate and Ashley and the very same Elizabeth of the Olsen twins’ winning fashion line, Elizabeth and James, it looks like this Olsen is one to watch style-wise. What is really worthy of noting here, is the lack of bling in her jewellery; her necklace has a craft like feel in sixties pop colours, which Elizabeth has brought out in her orange mini skirt and black block heels. It’s like a cool sixties mod has been let loose in a craft shop… what’s not to love?

The problem with crystal encrusted leotards

It’s one of those daily dilemmas: just how do I dress down my crystal encrusted full body leotard? Ok, it may not be a problem for the majority of us, but take note of the grey marl sweatshirt in this outfit. It has a laid back feel and cool texture contrast, whilst maintaining the leotard’s sporty feel, and most importantly, it adds boyish charm.

Isabel Marant S/S 11 by Karim Sadli08/05/2011

Looks by Isabel Marant, spring/summer 2011, photographed beautifully by Karim Sadli. Her twists on boyish pieces are always great- pinstriped skinny jeans, mesh like sweaters and rolled up shorts, topped off with dainty kittenish stilettos. I love the mix of nineties’ Ska with Parisian elegance.

Suited and booted08/04/2011

Love this take on retro tailoring: the faded denim shirt, sixties print shorts suit, updated with the linear lines of men’s tailoring.

Black and gold

Acne autumn/winter 2011/12. Love the boxy tee and cut off trousers in their patchwork of black leather and bright metallics. Worn ever-so-casually with a a jersey sweatshirt, it’s pure luxe tomboy.

Brogues, baby08/03/2011

Church’s are the holy grail of handmade men’s shoes. A family company whose experience dates back to 1675, you really couldn’t choose any better. What’s His is Yours loves all fashion that is menswear inspired, and I would love to own a pair of Church’s men’s brogues. The iconic brand understands it’s female appeal, and have just opened a women’s store on New Bond Street. The patent white classic brogues are perfect for summer.
